Shooters Promote New GM From Within

The Chi-Town Shooters have relieved Rich Greene of his General Manager duties and are pleased to announce the promotion of Game Day Coordinator Jerry Unold to the position of General Manager.

"Jerry has been a tremendous part of our franchise since our inception into the AAHA. He has consistently come up with new ideas to raise money on game day, and keep the fans entertained." Seid commented.

Unold has been off to a quick start with the hiring of a new Sales Associate, Adam Frigo, the scheduling of a player appearance at Hope Children's Hospital, and plans to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a game in early February.

Unold was available for comment, "I am excited to help bring my ideas for the Shooters beyond the walls of the arena. I have enjoyed my role to this point, and the expansion of it is a welcomed challenge."

Stay tuned for all future announcements and game themes at http://www.shootersice.com/.

Jason's Journey

My journey to come to the Shooters was a long one, ask anyone and they will agree. From AA to A was a long and arduous journey. But ever since I got here I’ve been treated great both on and off the ice. The game day staff that supports our team is exceptional, and the community has been more than accommodating in allowing us to be the professional team in the area.

Even though this league is at the single ‘A’ level, we are treated exceptionally well. We receive whatever equipment it is that we need, and coach always has an open door policy for questions and comments. From the beginning many of us were skeptical on the caliber of play in this league, but so far it has been strong, and there are many players in this league worthy of playing AA.

Aside from playing hockey and working out, we are involved in the community in numerous different ways. We have gone to several locations including the Indiana Convention Center, local businesses, and to a school close by in Illinois to promote not only ourselves, but to help bring in new customers to the new fans that we meet and greet and each location.

All of the guys on this team are a great bunch of guys. I’ve played on plenty of teams where the chemistry was disrupted by one individual, or the coach didn’t discipline players, but here there is no need for that as we all consider ourselves a family.

Whether we are billeted or living in the “hockey house,” when we come to the rink not only do we enjoy the camaraderie of each other, but the thought that we are getting paid to play something we love makes us all closer. If it wasn’t for the Chi-Town Shooters, many of us would be done playing this great game, but thankfully so we are still around doing what we do best, and hope to do this for many years to come.
